If there was a public option in the health care bill and everyone participated, the costs would be equalized. Although some people don’t like the idea of paying for others because they are healthy, one day, they will need medical attention as well. If they’d realize it, they might be a little less inclined to snub cost sharing.

• Sec. 1233, Pg. 425, Lines 17-19 – Government WILL instruct and consult regarding living wills and durable powers of attorney. Mandatory end-of-life planning!
• Sec. 1233, Pg. 425-426, Lines 22-25, 1-3 – Government provides approved list of end-of-life resources, guiding you in death.
• Sec. 1233, Pg. 427, Lines 15-24 – Government mandates program for orders for life-sustaining treatment (i.e. end of life). The government has a say in how your life ends.
• Sec. 1233, Pg. 429, Lines 1-9 – An “advanced care planning consult” will be used as patient’s health deteriorates.
• Sec. 1233, Pg. 429, Lines 10-12 – “Advanced Care Consultation” may include an ORDER for end-of-life plans – from the government.

Now I don’t remember where I heard it, but its all about right- Story: When you reach a CERTAIN age – you must leave your home and go sign yourself into a HOSPICE- and that is where you stay untill they decide what to kill you with and when.

Having taught government and US History at the high school level, I also think that we need to take both of these subjects more serious in school. For example, students are only required one semester of government to graduate from high school. One semester! Students are only required two semesters of US History. To contrast this with other “core subjects”, students are usually reqired four years of English, two years of science and two years of math. Personally, I am making my children take four years of the three subjects I just mentioned. However, when I try to look for extra history classes, they are far and few in between. There usually are not any additional classes to supplement the required classes in either US History or government, The school offers only the required classes in these subjects and nothing else! Take a look at all the “fluff electives” offered at your average high school and notice the lack of additional choices for the serious student in government. Add to this the fact that teaching, at both the high school and university levels, is a field packed with liberals. University faculty are mostly liberal leaning and a great many of them will actually target conservative students unfairly based only on the student’s political beliefs. If a student argues their beliefs either in a discusson or paper, they can sometimes be in for unfair treatment. So, when students get to the university level where there are more in depth course offerings, they are up against a heavy liberal slant in all of their classes. I believe all of these things add greatly to the ignorance of the population in general. Education in this country is screaming for an overhaul, from the top to the bottom. Until then, it is the responsibility of us as parents to educate our children about our rich heritage. We have to educate them about our government. I suggest turning on the tv! However, turn it on to stuff that is beneficial. Turn on the news, and then discuss the stories with your children. Turn on the tv and point out the lawmakers you think are a danger to our country and explain to your children why you hold that belief. It is obvious that the schools are not properly educating our kids, so it is time we do it ourselves and pick up the slack!

On the “Healthcare issue.” If the healthcare bill that congress is trying to shove down our throats is not good enough for them also it should be voted down! They act like they are better than the common hard working American, from the President on down! I’m tired of this eletism. They have the absolute best healthcare plans for life after serving just one term in office. This needs to stop!

Please take your ego out of your responsibility. Your ego and Obama’s naivety along with both of you not understanding the reality of what will occur if you continue implementing your efforts to redistribute wealth, it is destroying our country. You guys have been focusing all of your efforts on pushing health care reform while unemployment is increasing at record rates due to an ineffective stimulus package. If you had put the same efforts on creating jobs, we would have been much better off. Someone convinced you that you should put out the fire using gasoline. Snap out of this, put your democratic ego aside, and do what is right for the country before you cause irreparable damage.
